Jeanne Barrans – Paralegal/LLLT

Jeanne is a Limited License Legal Technician (WSBA LLLT #114) and is an experienced paralegal, working primarily in family law for many years. Jeanne has an Associate’s Degree in Legal Secretarial Science and post-college advanced certifications through NALS (a professional organization for legal support staff) as a PLS (Professional Legal Secretary) and as a PP (Professional Paralegal) with a specialty certificate in family law. (The Supreme Court of Washington does not recognize certification of specialties in the practice of law and that the legal title, credential, or certificate is not a requirement of the LLLT’s limited license to practice in the particular fields of law for which the LLLT is licensed.) E-mail Jeanne

Joni Carter – Paralegal

Joni graduated in 1980 from Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake with an Associate Degree in Applied Science. She began working in the legal field in 1980 and previously worked with Mount Vernon attorney Ken Evans for almost 20 years. Joni began working with Brewe Layman in 2011. Abby Erskine – Paralegal

Abby received her Associates in Business Technology degree from Everett Community College in 2005. She joined Brewe Layman in 2000 and in addition to being the firm’s Property Manager, Abby is the paralegal who works on our probate, guardianship, estate planning, prenuptial agreements and DUI cases. E-mail Abby

Amy Hagenston – Paralegal

Amy earned her paralegal degree from Skagit Valley Community College in 1992. She has worked in the legal field for over 20 years and joined Brewe Layman in 1999 where she focuses on family law cases. E-mail Amy

Jenn James – Paralegal

Jenn received her ATA degree in Paralegal studies from Edmonds Community College in 2001. She began her career with Brewe Layman in 1996 while she was still in high school and worked her way to her current role as a paralegal, in which she handles all types of family law cases. E-mail Jenn

Rhonda Johnson – Paralegal

Rhonda has more than 25 years’ experience working in the legal field, but recently earned her paralegal degree at Whatcom Community College in 2018. She joined Brewe Layman in 2018 as a paralegal, where she specializes in family law. E-mail Rhonda

Katie Miller – Paralegal

Katie earned her Paralegal Degree from Edmonds Community College in 1997. She has worked in the legal field since 1997 and joined the Brewe Layman team in 2000 where she specializes in family law cases. Prior to joining Brewe Layman, Katie worked for the Honorable Larry E. Abby Morgan – Paralegal

Abby received her Paralegal Certificate from ICDC College in 2009. She moved to Washington and worked in a Seattle family law firm from 2011-2014 primarily as an office manager/paralegal. Abby joined the Brewe Layman team in December 2014 as the office assistant and worked her way up to a paralegal position. E-mail Abby

Arletha Northrop – Paralegal

Arletha earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington in 1989.  She acquired fifteen years of legal experience in insurance defense litigation with a Seattle law firm, supplemented her on-the-job training with paralegal courses through Edmonds Community College.  After a nine year absence, she returned to the legal field in May 2012 as Brewe Layman’s personal injury paralegal. Debbie Sherlock – Paralegal

Debbie graduated from Stanwood High School in 1979 and has more than 30 years’ experience working in the legal field. She joined Brewe Layman in 2005 as a paralegal, where she specializes in family law. E-mail Debbie

Kelly Williamson – Paralegal

Kelly received her B.S. in Psychology in 1987 from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, and received her Post Graduate Paralegal Certificate in 1993 from Southeastern Paralegal Institute (an ABA Approved School).
